Our predicted MUFC XI for an important Europa League group stage game against FC Porto is now in.

Manchester United Football Club drew their Europa League opener at home to FC Twente last midweek. This time around, the Red Devils have an immediate chance to bounce right back.

A game against FC Porto is never easy. This will be no different, particularly in their own back yard. Erik ten Hag will be feeling the pressure to perform here, particularly after a poor week of results.

There’s no room for mistakes. With that in mind, I firmly believe he’ll opt for his strongest possible line-up here, choosing all his in-form players in the hope that they can secure a positive result and stop the crows from circling.

Anyway, let’s give you the full rundown of the side.

Andre Onana has been pretty good at the start of this campaign, making some big saves to keep his team in the game at times. He will need to be at his best here this evening.

Noussair Mazraoui feels like an absolute bargain at £12m and he is the best choice at right-back at present, with Diogo Dalot continuing over on the left out of pure necessity. Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez will not be afforded rest here due to the need to win this match.

I’ve gone for Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte in the deeper midfield roles, allowing Kobbie Mainoo some time off after injury. Just further ahead of them sits Bruno Fernandes, who will have to improve if we’re going to see a positive result in this one.

Although Marcus Rashford is better on the wing, I think he absolutely has to start this game up top, with Amad and Alejandro Garnacho either side of the winger. This is the in-form front three and all simply have to start.
