Man United could be about to make a serious offer to sign Benfica attacker, Kerem Akturkoglu.

I’d argue that Manchester United had a pretty good summer transfer window, as Erik ten Hag and INEOS filled plenty of gaping holes within the match-day squad. Though there is still plenty of work to do for the powers that be at the Theatre of Dreams.

Perhaps a left-back is the main priority, though scoring goals has also been an issue. Hence, a move to bring in another forward player wouldn’t go amiss – particularly if the club believe that there are no academy graduates who are close to knocking on the door.

According to Fichajes, a new potential attacking signing has been thrown into the mix; Kerem Akturkoglu. The Turk currently plies his trade for Benfica in the Primeira Liga.

The forward only joined the Portuguese outfit this summer, having left Galatasaray.

However, according to the aforementioned claim, United have shown a ‘serious interest’ in signing the 25-year-old attacker, with a £33.5m offer being considered for Akturkoglu.

United have a good history when it comes to signing players who have impressed in Portugal, so it would make sense to delve back into that market during this current time of need.

Akturkoglu is still taking his first steps at the ‘elite’ European level, though he does have two goals in his first three games, so he has certainly made a bright start.

It goes without saying, the Turk’s form would have to continue over the coming months for United to consider firming up their interest with an official bid. You’d also imagine nothing concrete will happen until next summer at the earliest, due to the fact that he has barely settled down in Portugal since his move a few months ago.
