Man United could look to make a move to sign Morten Frendup from Genoa, though the Reds will face heavy competition for his signature.
Manchester United Football Club made some important signings love the summer, as Erik ten Hag continues to overhaul the playing squad into one that fits his image and style.
The Red Devils are still some way off the pace in the Premier League, with further signings needed if the Old Trafford side are to return to the very summit of the sport.
The latest transfer rumour comes from Give Me Sport, who state that Morten Frendup is a possible future signing.
According to Dean Jones, United are ‘keeping an eye’ on the 23-year-old Genoa man, who is enjoying himself in Serie A at the moment.
The Versatile Dane, who has been compared to N’Golo Kante, is attracting heavy interest, with Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and Liverpool all said to be keen on the midfield maestro.
United are said to be ‘continuing to look’ for potential midfield options, as the likes of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen both potentially departing next summer.
It’s believed there is a ‘strong chance’ Frendup will depart Genoa next summer, with United among the sides who are closely following his progress.
The Old Trafford side certainly could get younger in the midfield region and a move for Frendup would make plenty of sense. He’d add some extra legs to that area of the pitch, meaning United would be much tougher to bypass.
Beating out competition from Liverpool may prove difficult if the Anfield club do back up their interest with an official bid, as they’re currently challenging for Premier League titles, while United find themselves in a battle to finish inside the top half right now…
