NBA insider Marc Stein revealed that the Nets’ asking price for either player is at least one first-round pick.
Schroder, 31, has been one of the Nets’ most consistent performers this season. The veteran point guard is averaging 18.6 points, 3 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in 33.9 minutes per game.
He is in the final year of a two-year, $25.4 million contract. His solid production and expiring deal make him an attractive option for contending teams looking to add a reliable ball handler and scorer.
Finney-Smith, 30, has also been a key contributor for Brooklyn. The versatile swingman is averaging 10.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 29.1 minutes per game.
He is in the third year of a four-year, $55.6 million contract, with the final season being a player option. His defensive prowess and ability to space the floor could be valuable for teams seeking a two-way wing.
Despite strong individual performances from Schroder and Finney-Smith, the Nets have struggled as a team this season. Brooklyn is currently eighth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 10-14. The team’s underperformance has led them to prioritize rebuilding efforts, with veterans likely to be moved for future assets.
