Pochettino expresses disappointment in Cole Palmer. here is why
Mauricio Pochettino has sent a message to Cole Palmer, following Chelsea’s 4-0 win against Preston North End on Saturday evening.
The Blues booked a place in the next stage of the FA Cup after beating Ryan Lowe’s men at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer was involved in the goals again, setting up Thiago Silva for Chelsea’s second goal of the evening.
The 21-year-old has now recorded an impressive 15 goal contributions in just 20 games across all competitions since he joined Chelsea, and Pochettino is happy for him, but Pochettino also expressed his disappointment in one area, as he believes Palmer needs to work on his finishing.
The Argentine said after the win: “Very impressed. I think he arrived the last day of the transfer window and his performance after six months, was incredible. We are so happy.
“Today a little bit disappointed with him because he didn’t score a big chance he has. He is still young and still needs to improve in different areas, not only inside the pitch but outside.
“He needs to understand many things but I think he is improving a lot and he is a very good player for us and he is doing fantastic and I am so pleased.”
