Rangers are the second opponents on this summer’s pre-season schedule for Erik ten Hag’s team, who are set to play in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh for a second successive year.
Having defeated Lyon 1-0 at the city’s Murrayfield Stadium in 2023, the Reds will return to the historic arena – primarily used for rugby union – in just over a month’s time, to face the Glaswegian giants on Saturday 20 July (16:00 BST kick-off).
It will be the first time United have faced Rangers since a late Wayne Rooney penalty gave us all three points at the end of a tense UEFA Champions League group stage clash at Ibrox 14 years ago.
Tickets for the encounter with Philippe Clement’s side – who finished runners-up in the Scottish Premiership last season and have ex-Reds goalkeeper Jack Butland in their ranks – are available to buy now.
