Man United’s imminent signing, Leny Yoro, should be good to play a full part in the Reds’ US leg of their pre-season tour.

Manchester United Football Club appear to be rapidly closing in on their second signing of the summer.

An unexpected move to sign Leny Yoro is happening at a fast pace, with a fee now agreed and the player now Manchester-bound in order to complete his medical.

Now, the Manchester Evening News have provided an update on the transfer, claiming that Yoro has agreed to join United for a transfer fee of around the £58m mark.

The Frenchman is set to become United’s second signing of the summer, while the player will ‘likely’ be available to travel to the USA for the main part of the Reds’ pre-season tour next week.

Yoro appears to have usurped both Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthijs de Ligt as United’s top centre-back target this summer, with the teenager set to replace his French compatriot, Raphael Varane, at the heart of United’s defence.

Albeit an expensive signing, Yoro represents genuine quality in a position of need. The talented young man will be expected to make an instant impact, partnering Lisandro Martinez at the heart of United’s back four.

For now, this puts an end to the Red’s centre-half search – unless the club can find a way to move on from Victor Lindelof. If the Ice Man is sold, and other funds are generated via player sales, a move for De Ligt could still be a possibility before the end of the window.

Yoro is the man that United really wanted, though. I am delighted to hear that it looks like Ten Hag will get his man.
