A Man United move to sign Noussair Mazraoui appears to be edging closer, though it’s not yet a done deal.

Manchester United Football Club need further signings this summer, though the Reds are in a situation where they have to sell before they can buy.

A right-back feels like Erik ten Hag’s next desire, with Noussair Mazraoui seemingly the frontrunner to come in and fill that position.

It’s a slow-moving transfer due to the fact that Aaron Wan-Bissaka remains at the club. When the Englishman leaves, I’d expect this deal to progress quickly.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has provided the latest update on the Mazraoui front, claiming that United are still ‘expected’ to sign the player ‘soon’, as Bayern Munich remain intent on selling the right-back.

It’s not a done deal at this stage, despite the fact that Bayern Munich want to sell the Moroccan. A verbal agreement is in place with United, as it has been for a couple of weeks now.

Check out Florian Plettenberg’s X post on the news here:

This is not a super glamorous signing, more one that fills a specific need. Ten Hag wants to bring in familiarity, with Mazraoui knowing exactly what will be required of him in that right-back position.

Sure, the 26-year-old may not be the 1v1 defender that Wan-Bissaka is, though stylistically, it’s a much better fit, hence why Ten Hag is pushing so hard to get this deal done.
