Tottenham Hotspur have finally found a long-term replacement for Harry Kane.
A year after selling Kane to Bayern Munich, the north London side is stumping up as much as £65 million to sign Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke, according to BBC Sport’s Simon Stone and Nizaar Kinsella.
The deal reportedly includes £55 million up front and £10 million in potential add-ons and could eclipse Tottenham’s club-record outlay for Tanguy Ndombele.
While Bournemouth are set to recoup a club-record fee, Liverpool will be entitled to 20% of it. Liverpool negotiated a sell-on clause before green-lighting Solanke’s initial move to Bournemouth in 2019.
Solanke will also become the most expensive Premier League signing of the 2024 summer window. Manchester United defender Leny Yoro leads all Premier League arrivals at a reported cost of £52 million.
Solanke is coming off the best season of his career, scoring 21 goals in 42 appearances for Bournemouth.
