Alejandro Garnacho has secured his first Argentina goal contribution, picking up an assist for Julian Alvarez and earning praise from his manager.

Manchester United do not play again for another nine days, with the Red Devils left to swill on a horrible performance at home to Liverpool. However, their players are in action across all corners of the globe for their respective countries.

Overnight, Argentina took on Chile, meaning minutes for both Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho. The latter has had a weird start to life for the South American side, having yet broken through into the team to start matches.

Garna continues to settle for minutes off the substitute bench, though he certainly made those minutes count last night during a 3-0 win over Chile.

The Argentina dazzled off the bench, showing his skill and class, while also picking up an assist for Julian Alvarez in the 84th minute.

After the game, Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni claimed that the United star ‘did everything well’ during a super-sub performance.

Check out what Scaloni had to say in full here:

“The national team needs no one to relax, for there to be a stimulus. We didn’t have Leo (Messi), Angel won’t be there, and we need to see players who can come in,” Scaloni said to La Nacion.

“Alejandro came in and did everything well. (But) we need to take it slowly, calmly, like with the younger players.”

Garnacho just has to remain patient and those starts will eventually come his way. After all, he is still only twenty years of age, with plenty of chances ahead of him in the future.

All he can do is show his quality off the subs bench for now and that’s exactly what he’s doing. The coach seems very pleased with the way Garna is performing so you do feel like it’s just a matter of time.

At the end of the day, limited Garnacho minutes is a good thing for United. It keeps him as fresh as possible, particularly as there is plenty of travel time involved when he jets away for international duty as Argentina is pretty much on the other side of the globe.
