FC Bayern Munich has signed Johannes Voigtmann to a contract extending through the 2026-27 season.

Voigtmann, 31, returns to the Bundesliga after spending the last eight years playing abroad.

The center previously played for Olimpia Milan in Italy, where he won two Italian championships.

During his international career, Voigtmann helped the German national team achieve a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

FC Bayern’s new head coach, Gordon Herbert, will reunite with Voigtmann, having previously coached him in Frankfurt and on the national team.

Voigtmann averaged 7.9 points and 5 rebounds per game in EuroLeague play last season.

Voigtmann’s EuroLeague journey includes stints with Baskonia Vítoria-Gasteiz and CSKA Moscow, where he made significant impacts.

Voigtmann’s previous success includes a bronze medal at the 2022 EuroBasket and a World Championship title in 2023.
