Olympian and current IBO World Super Middleweight champion, Cuban southpaw Osleysl ‘El Tornado’ Iglesias out of Germany retained his title by stopping Germany-based Ukrainian Petro Ivanov in five rounds, scoring a knockdown and ending it on Thursday night at the Montreal Casino, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

In the main event, 2021 Olympian Iglesias (13-0, 12 KOs) stopped Petro Ivanov (18-1-2, 13 KOs) at 0:40 of the fifth round of a scheduled 12 rounds.

In the first two rounds, it was all Iglesias driving Ivanov around the ring. In the third round Iglesias dominated drawing blood from the nose of Ivanov with left uppercuts to the chin.

In the fourth round, Ivanov landed his first solid punch, an overhand right on the chin of Iglesias. From that point on, Iglesias again dominated.

In the fifth round, doubling up on his jabs, Iglesias landed a right uppercut followed by a left on the chin and down went Ivanov for an 8-count from Referee Junior Padulo. Upon rising, the fight was waved off.

Two-time world challenger Super Middle Steven ‘Bang Bang’ Butler (35-5-1, 29 KOs) stopped Fernando ‘Manzana’ Farias (12-3-3, 4 KOs) at 2:36 of the first round of a scheduled ten rounds.

In the first round, Butler went on the attack throughout into the final minute, landing a right on the chin, dropping Farias for an 8-count from Referee Martin Forest, who waved it off upon Farias rising.

Light Heavy Wilkens Mathieu (12-0, 8 KOs) stopped Marcos ‘El Comandante’ Karalitzky (8-10-2, 2 KOs) at 3:00 of the fourth round of scheduled eight rounds, scoring a knockdown just prior to the end of the round.

In the first round it was all Mathieu with mostly body shots. In the second round Mathieu kept looking for the knockout as Karalitzky would stay inside not giving him much punching from except left and right uppercuts to the body.

Karalitzky’s face showed abrasions below his left eye on the cheekbone in the third round. In the fourth round’s first minute, Mathieu landed a flurry of punches, having Karalitzky against the ropes.

In the final minute, a left from Mathieu drew blood from the nose of Karalitzky. Then, seconds later, dropping him with a left hook to the body for an 8-count from Referee Junior Padulo as Karalitzky’s corner called for a halt.

Light 2021 Olympian Dzmitri ‘The Wasp’ Asanau (9-0, 4, KOs) stopped Matias Rueda (38-3, 32 KOs) at 2:58 of the fifth round of a scheduled ten rounds for the vacant WBC Continental Americas title.

In the first round it was all the taller Asanau using a solid jab and landing combination always coming forward. With half a minute remaining (inactive for a year) Rueda rocked Asanau with a right. As Asanau came off the ropes he landed a right to the chin.

In the second round halfway point, while on the defense, Asanau landed a left hook on the chin, having Rueda almost down, holding on until the final minute. He opened up a cut on Rueda’s left eyebrow with his right hand.

In the third round, it was all Asanau on the offense as the blood came streaming down the face of Rueda’s cut left eyebrow. In the fourth round, it was all Asanau. In the fifth round’s halfway point a dozen unanswered punches from Asanau with no return and both eyebrows bleeding Asanau knocked him down causing Referee Alain Villeneuve to wisely call a halt.

Light welterweight Jhon ‘El Tigre’ Orobio (12-0, 11 KOs) stopped Jacopo ‘The Swing Boy’ Colli (9-0-1, 4 KOs) at 1:12 of the first round scoring a pair of knockdowns of a scheduled eight rounds.

Thirty seconds into the first round, right from Orobio on the side of Colli’s head, he went for an 8-count from Referee Martin Forest. Seconds later, an overhand right followed by a left on the chin and down went Colli a second time for an 8-count from Referee Forest, who wisely waved it off after looking into the eyes of Colli.
