Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Flamengo have reached out to Anthony Martial, after he left Man United this summer.

Manchester United Football Club cleared plenty of wage space this summer, by letting big-earning underperformers leave the dressing room. Perhaps no single player epitomised that more than Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman made a stunning start to life in Manchester, though that initial promise quickly faded, with injuries more than playing their part along the way. After leaving the Red Devils on a free this summer, Martial is still without a club. To me, that is telling…

However, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on that front. He has claimed that Brazilian club Flamengo are the latest to ‘make contact’ with the free agent 28-year-old, as they look to replace Pedro who suffered an ACL injury.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s X post on the news here:

Martial is said to have ‘several options’ on the table right now, while a move to Brazil would certainly take the European public eye completely off the former United number nine.

This could be an astute move to make at this stage in his career. Let’s be honest. Martial has made enough money to pass down that generational wealth to his family so if he’s intent on getting back to playing football at a high level, this could be smart.

I just hope he heads to somewhere where he can be happy, playing football with a smile on his face.
