TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting right tackle Luke Goedeke did not clear the concussion protocol Saturday and has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Starting running back Rachaad White was also added to the injury report Saturday with an illness and is officially listed as questionable.
Sunday will mark the third straight week that the Bucs will be without Goedeke, who suffered a concussion in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders. Goedeke had practiced all week. He was limited Wednesday, practiced fully Thursday and then was limited Friday. The Bucs have surrendered 12 sacks over the past two weeks without him.
If White is not able to go or is limited, the next man up might be Bucky Irving. Irving has been dealing with a hamstring injury that limited him in practice this week and held him out Thursday. Irving did vow to play Thursday when speaking to reporters and is officially listed as questionable.
For the second week in a row, the Bucs called up veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard from the practice squad, accounting for a Friday hamstring injury suffered by rookie receiver Jalen McMillan and an ankle injury from Kameron Johnson. They also elevated punter Trenton Gill because of recent struggles by Jake Camarda.
