Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson predictions from Carl Froch
This Friday, November 15, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul (10-1, 7KO) will fight a man 31-years his senior in former undisputed world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44KO), at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, live on Netflix.
The 8×2-minute heavyweight contest has come under fire for its safety issues, yet it’s been licenced by the Texas Combative Sports Program and now just days away.
“Iron Mike” retied in 2005, almost 20 years ago, after losing three from his last four fights.
Anther former world champion, Carl Froch, gave his prediction for the bizarre bout.
The Cobra commented, “It would be absolutely fantastic if Tyson goes in there and puts a whopping on him and lands a couple of shots.
“Jake Paul’s going to beat him probably in four or five rounds, because Mike Tyson will get absolutely knackered and probably fall over.”
Beijing 2008 Olympic bronze medallist, Tony Jeffries, made this comment after watching the open workouts this week, “This guy should not be in here. Mike couldn’t gauge the distance with his trainer on the mitts. He was coming too close, the punches were missing the mitt, not hitting it accurately enough and his feet wasn’t there either. He would get his feet in then he would pull the punches then he would stop. The accuracy was all over the place.”
The 38-year-old “Mighty Mackem” then shared his thoughts after watching the press conference, “I’m a big Mike Tyson fan, I don’t mean to criticise him, but he seemed like a 58-year-old – I hate to say it – punch-drunk fighter that didn’t know where he was. He wasn’t answering questions, he wasn’t being responsive, he wasn’t even listening.
“Mike’s been punched in the head thousands of times from high-level heavyweight fighters, so the effects that’s had on his brain. His last professional fight, what was it, like 20 years ago, when he didn’t look good at all, he got knocked out right then, so over that time period where he has smoked lots of weed, eaten loads of mushrooms, probably, not being working out, do you think that his punch resistance has gone up or down? Do you think his stamina has gone up or down? Do you think his overall boxing has gone up or down?
“Now, 25 years later, he’s getting in there with a young, hungry fighter, whether you like Jake Paul or not, he can punch. I’m afraid that Mike Tyson is shot. It looks like this could end terribly wrong for Mike Tyson.”

UFC fighter, Jorge Masvidal, gave his take, “What kind of 58-year-old man can keep up with someone in their 20s when they’re doing a sprint?
“It’s tough in a regular foot race, it’s tough on the cardio side. I know he’s not fighting a killer like Evander Holyfield, but Jake is in his prime, all this guy does is eat, sleep and box – he trains his ass off. I know it looks like he’s always partying and s**t, but this guy is training Monday through Saturday, he’s running his miles, he’s hitting the bag and I just don’t know what kind of physical condition Mike is going to be in. I know he’s got his injuries, can he really pull it off at 60 years old?
“I feel like Jake’s gonna take the first two rounds off, just get on his bike and move around, wear Tyson out. He’ll get tired. He will probably want to take Mike into the later rounds and then it’s going to be a problem. At the same time I don’t think Jake is a good enough boxer to keep Mike off. But I’m leaning towards Jake by decision.
“It’s 14oz gloves so that favours Jake, so he should be able to take a shot better. The longer it goes the better it is for Jake, but can he get out of those first two rounds. Jake wins because of the overall age, conditioning, shape, it’s going to make a big difference.”
