Chris Eubank Jr. faces a former European champion in his next fight
Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24KO) will clash with world title contender Kamil Szeremeta (25-2-2, 8KO) on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
His first fight of the year takes place on the undercard of the undisputed light-heavyweight showdown between Russian rivals Artur Beterbiev and Dmitrii Bivol.
Ranked in the top 10 with all five governing bodies (WBC #3, WBA #7, IBF #5, WBO #6, IBO #1), 34-year-old Eubank Jr. is pushing for a world title shot after avenging his only ever knockout defeat to former world champion Liam Smith last year.
The Brighton boxer was able to stop ‘Beefy’ in 10 rounds last September, which was revenge for a fourth-round KO defeat earlier in the year.
Victory over Bialystok boxer would see him in a good position to challenge any of the world champions at middleweight – Carlos Adames (WBC), Erislandy Lara (WBA), Janibek Alimkhanuly (IBF & WBO). Or, EBE could even claim a shot at the vacant IBO World middleweight title, having held the super-middleweight version twice before.
Also on the card, ‘Welsh Wizard’ Joe Cordina gets a shot at unbeaten WBC World lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson.
