Man United still have eyes on RB Leipzig striker, Benjamin Sesko, ahead of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have to find some extra help for Rasmus Hojlund this summer. Anthony Martial is leaving, while the young Dane simply cannot do it all on his own…
As we gear up towards the official opening of the window in about ten days, the transfer stories are starting to ramp up, including in the striker position.
In an article from The Athletic (subscription required), they’ve provided more details in regard to the Reds’ search for a new front man. Once again, Benjamin Sesko’s name is in amongst the pile.
According to Mark Critchley, the prolific 21-year-old striker remains of interest to Man United.
Sesko has been closely watched by the Old Trafford club ever since he was a youngster, though stiff competition is expected for his signature.
That is to be expected given his incredible strike rate. Sesko has put up genuinely impressive numbers everywhere he’s been, including 18 goals across all competitions for Leipzig last term.
There can be no doubt that Sesko would cost a pretty penny for whoever wins his signature and this is where United could struggle. The Red Devils are expected to have limited funds this summer, while a lack of Champions League football on offer could also prove to be a problem.
I think it’s fair to say that any move to sign the top talent from Slovenia feels like a long shot right now, though if there’s absolutely any chance that United can get this deal done, it would be an insane piece of transfer business.
A two-pronged attack of Sesko and Hojlund would strike fear into any defence in world football.
