Greek side Panathinaikos are still trying to sign Facundo Pellistri from Man United this summer.

Manchester United Football Club will now have to start sanctioning some player sales in order to fund new signings. There is talk about a potential move to bring in Noussair Mazraoui to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka on that right-hand side of defence.

The Spider himself may leave the Theatre of Dreams to make space in the squad for the Moroccan, though journalist Giannas Chorianopoulus believes another name is being targeted for transfer; Facundo Pellistri.

According to his information, European side Panathinaikos ‘keep pushing’ to sign the exciting winger Pellistri, who has made 14 senior appearances for the Red Devils.

Not too long ago, Panathinaikos’ interest in signing Pellistri came to light, with the Greek giants seemingly still keen on making that move happen.

Check out Giannas Chrorianopoulos’ tweet on the news here:

Now 22, Pellistri has been on the fringes of the United senior team for quite some time now, without really breaking through with regularity.

When the man from Uruguay wasn’t given a real run in the side around Christmas time when the squad was decimated through injury, it felt like a permanent move away was just a matter of time.

It’s a real shame as Pellistri is an immense talent who can make an impact at the highest level. Sadly, he’s just not kicked on as much as United and Erik ten Hag would have liked. A move to a big club like Panathinaikos could be the right move for all involved here, as the Reds look to bolster their transfer kitty by sanctioning more sales for fringe players like Pellistri.
