Our confirmed MUFC XI for the pre-season game vs Rangers is now in.

Manchester United lost their first pre-season game against Rosenborg, though it was clear there was a real gulf in fitness levels between the sides. Next up, a game against Rangers in Edinburgh.

The Old Trafford side will like to continue to build up the intensity, while also securing a positive result as that can be good for confidence.

All the talk ahead of this one was about Leny Yoro and his availability. The Frenchman did travel with the squad for the game, meaning there was a great chance he’d be involved in some capacity.

Well, the confirmed team is now in. I am pleased to report we’re all going to see Yoro in action for the first time as he is named in the side.

Andre Onana returns for his first minutes of the pre-season, with the man from Cameroon bringing some seniority to the back five.

At right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts again, despite the Englishman facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford. Over on the left, Sam Murray has earned himself another chance to impress. Then comes Leny Yoro, in the team for his debut, alongside Jonny Evans at the heart of the back four.

Casemiro is captain for this game, with Toby Collyer given another chance to impress the Old Trafford Faithful here. Mason Mount completes the midfield trio, which is full of energy and quality.

Ethan Wheatley is touted for big things in future so it’s nice to see him start as the leading striker for this one. To his right and left respectively is Amad and Jadon Sancho. Both of whom will be chomping at the bit to prove their worth.
