Our confirmed MUFC XI for the first pre-season game vs Rosenborg is now in.

It barely feels like Manchester United have been away, yet here we are, with another pre-season starting this evening.

A 25-strong Red Devils squad headed to Norway to take on Rosenborg, with Erik ten Hag naming a youthful squad for a game against a quality opponent. This will no doubt be a stern test for these young guys who are looking to leave a positive impression on the manager.

The result itself is somewhat irrelevant, with these games more about building up the fitness levels ahead of the serious stuff starting next month. It’s also a chance to see some of the next generation in action against experienced professionals.

Anyway, here we are again then! The team news is now in, with Ten Hag naming a great mix of youth and experience as the Reds look to kick things off with a win. Let’s give you the full rundown.

Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Rosenborg in full here:

Radek Vitek does start in between the sticks, with the Czech goalkeeper looking to prove his worth here.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts in the right-back position, with The Spider looking to remain firmly in the gaffer’s plans. Young Sam Murray starts in the left-back position. Jonny Evans will partner Will Fish at the heart of defence.

Casemiro will sit in that holding midfield position as per usual, as the man from Brazil looks to return to his best form this coming term. Mason Mount and Hannibal make up the midfield trio. Both bring energy in abundance and genuine on-ball quality.

Ethan Wheatley leads the line and I am super excited to see how the young man gets on. Marcus Rashford starts on the left-hand of the attack, with Ethan Williams completing the team.
