Manchester United are indeed interested in signing teen sensation Chido Obi-Martin, who seems to be on his way out of Arsenal, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Earlier on Friday, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United were trying to convince Obi-Martin to join them.

It was stated that the 16-year-old, who is also attracting overtures from abroad, visited Carrington on Tuesday to discuss a potential Old Trafford switch.

This has now been confirmed by Ornstein who explains, “Manchester United are exploring a deal to sign youth striker Chido Obi-Martin following the expiry of his schoolboy terms at Arsenal.”

“The 16-year-old visited United’s Carrington training facilities earlier this week, with the club in early-stage discussions over a move.”

“Arsenal made what they felt was a fair offer to Obi-Martin, whose next deal will be a scholarship before switching to a professional contract upon reaching his 17th birthday.”

“Ultimately the forward decided to move on and United are among a host of interested sides, though that does not include Manchester City.”

Since he joined Arsenal from Danish side KB in 2022, Obi-Martin has impressed in North London.

He famously scored 10 goals in a 14-3 Under-16s win over Liverpool in November 2023.

The performance against Liverpool was certainly not a fluke for the forward, who went on to grab five goals vs. West Ham and also found the back of the net on seven occasions during an Under-18s meeting with Norwich.

For the Under-18s, Obi-Martin plundered a mind-boggling 29 goals in 17 league matches.

He represented Denmark at the 2024 Uefa European Under-17s Championships qualification campaign. He managed two goals in three games during the group stages.

Landing Obi-Martin would certainly be a real coup for United, who have a rich history of signing the best talents in world football and developing them to become world-class superstars.
