According to records from the Oklahoma County Detention Center, former NBA player Desmond Mason was arrested in Oklahoma on Wednesday.
Mason, who won the 2001 Slam Dunk Contest, was detained on charges of contempt of court related to his divorce from his ex-wife, Andrea Mason. TMZ reports the arrest was due to his failure to attend a court hearing.
The 47-year-old was released later that night after posting a $50,000 bond. Mason played 10 seasons in the NBA from 2000 to 2009.
Throughout his career with the Seattle Supersonics, Milwaukee Bucks, New Orleans Hornets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Sacramento Kings, Mason averaged 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
After playing at Oklahoma State, he was drafted 17th overall in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics.
