Dillian Whyte vs Derek Chisora 3 anyone?

The Brixton Body Snatcher Dillian Whyte (30-3, 20KO) just called out Derek ‘WAR’ Chisora (35-13, 23KO) on social media for a third fight to complete their trilogy.

It was way back in 2016 when these fierce heavyweight rivals first went to war, with Dillian Whyte just edging Derek Chisora on a split decision to win the WBC International heavyweight title. The Londoners traded back and forth in instant classic that thrilled fight fans.

Then they met again, almost exactly two years later in the same month of December, this time in 2022. The ending was far more conclusive in the rematch with Whyte popping up with a sweeping left hook to knock out the durable Delboy in round 11.

In an effort to trigger the trilogy, Dillian goaded Derek on social media, “Hey, Derek Chisora, stop horsing around and let’s do the fight, am not interested in talking, am just interested in putting [you] to bed again.”

A lot has transpired since this pair last met in the ring, despite it being less than two years ago.

Now 36, Jamaican-born Whyte has bounced back from defeat at Wembley Stadium to Tyson Fury in April 2022 with two victories, firstly over Michigan’s tough Jermaine Franklin, who took him the distance to a mixed decision in November 2022.

That was meant to set up a return fixture with Anthony Joshua nicely, seeing as AJ had also gone the distance with Franklin, but a failed drugs test saw their rematch cancelled on fight week. Joshua KO’d stand-in opponent Robert Helenius instead and now finds himself with a world title shot on September 21.

For Whyte, he disappeared out of the limelight while his team of lawyers worked on his case diligently until he was eventually cleared of any wrongdoings and allowed to box again this year, which he did immediately by popping over to Ireland last March to stop Christian Hammer in three rounds.

Aged 40, Delboy’s last defeat also came at the hands of ‘The Gypsy King’ in a football stadium, this time it was at the home of Tottenham Hotspurs.
