Marcus Rashford remains a ‘big doubt’ as Man United gear up to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday.
Manchester United have little left to play for in the Premier League. However, Erik ten Hag will be hoping his squad can close out the season strongly, ending the domestic league in good form, potentially using it as a springboard to perform well in the FA Cup final.
The Reds have four matches to go before the Wembley showpiece, with time running out for injured players to return in time to push to play their part in that game.
One man who has divided opinion this season, but will always start when fit, is Marcus Rashford. The Englishman has been out recently, though I expected him to be back in the squad for the Crystal Palace game on Monday.
Well, that may not be the case. Ten Hag met the media to conduct his typical pre-match press conference today, confirming that he doesn’t expect the key man to be fit to play, with Rashford remaining a ‘big doubt’ for this Monday night game. Question marks also remain about Bruno Fernandes.

“We have some players with question marks,” Erik told ManUtd.com. “Rashy, I think he is a big doubt. For Monday, at this moment, I do not expect him back.“
Whether we like Rashy or not. A team without him and Bruno in it is a team that lacks any real chance creation. Palace are a pretty good team defensively and I struggle to see this United side creating a massive amount of chances here.
It’s a huge blow. It also means that as we edge closer to the FA Cup final, Rashford is running out of time to be fully fit for that massive match. You just know if he was at 100% he’d come up with at least one big moment – just as he did in the most recent meeting with our noisy neighbours.
In terms of options, it’s looking like Alejandro Garnacho will start on the left-hand side, leaving Antony and Amad to battle it out for the start over on the right.
