TURKEY PEGGED BACK BY DUTCH
With 20 minutes to play in Berlin, Turkey were all set for the semi-finals, thanks to Samet Akaydin’s first-half header.
But the Netherlands turned the game on its head in the space of six minutes, as Stefan de Vrij rose unmarked to head home, before a Mert Muldur own goal on 76 minutes settled the tie.
Altay Bayindir was an unused substitute for Turkey, who had chances to equalise and force extra-time late on.

Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen made an outstanding late save from Semih Kilicsoy, while Turkey’s Bertug Yildirim was shown a red card for his protestations from the bench.
There are three former Reds in the Netherlands side who can now look forward to that last-four meeting with the Three Lions, as Daley Blind, Memphis Depay and Wout Weghorst are all in Ronald Koeman’s squad.
