Man United are set to sign talented striker, Chido Obi-Martin, on a free transfer.

We’ve said it time and time again, but we always prefer to see Manchester United do what they do best; sign young players and nurture their talent.

For far too many years, United have struggled when it comes to acquiring marquee signings for massive money. Be it due to club failings, or these players arriving at Old Trafford under too much pressure, I guess we’ll never know.

The Reds should return to their roots and sign younger players who are rapidly emerging. Chido Obi-Martin certainly falls into that bracket.

After leaving Arsenal, the young striker had a big decision to make about his future. Well, according to Fabrizio Romano, that choice has been made.

The Italian journalist has given his trademark ‘Here we go!’, with United set to sign the ‘top talent’ after the player has accepted the Reds’ proposal.

According to Romano, a pathway into the first-team was key for Obi-Martin, with United’s project convincing the 2007-born striker to make the move to Manchester.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s X post on the news here:

Obi-Martin was a highly sought-after prospect. The fact that United have managed to win this race, despite their recent slump, is testament to the incredible foundations this club has built over many years.

The fact that Obi-Martin turned down higher offers to make the move to Manchester is also huge. This was not a decision motivated by money, meaning he truly does believe in what the Red Devils have to offer.

At least now Obi-Martin’s long-term future is now secured, meaning the player can focus solely on his football.

Hopefully, we hear an official announcement soon.
