Facundo Pellistri could be in line for a Man United exit this summer, amid interest from Panathinaikos.

Manchester United Football Club may well have to sell some players before they can buy. INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are looking to tighten the wallet a little more, while Premier League spending rules will prevent any further marquee additions being made, unless cash is raised first.

Erik ten Hag could look to clear out some fringe players within the squad, which could explain why the likes of Scott McTominay, Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are up for sale.

Today, Panathinaikos source, @Prasinoforosgr, have provided some information on another possible exit; Facundo Pellistri.

They state that the Greek club are trying to buy Pellistri in a permanent transfer, with talks between United and Panathinaikos ongoing.

The 22-year-old United starlet is said to be ‘open’ to the move, largely due to the fact that fellow Uruguayan, Diego Alonso, is the Head Coach.

Check out the X post on the news here:

Pellistri has been on the periphery for the last couple of seasons now, without really making that breakthrough. We’ve seen glimpses of his ability and talent, though he always struck me as someone who is better as an option off the bench late on in games.

I’m not sure he’s ready to start games at the highest level. Perhaps a move to a club where there is less pressure on his shoulders does make sense.

With Amad now firmly in the mix, Pellistri has fallen that little bit further down the pecking order and that may well make the winger’s decision to depart that little bit easier.

You’d like to think that United can earn at least a few million from Pellistri’s sale, but let’s wait and see…
