Women’s collegiate volleyball has been impressive so far this season with the top three NCAA Division I teams dominating the rest of the competition.
Standing at No. 1 is Pitt. The Panthers are 12-0 and have not lost a set in eight straight matches. Second-year Olivia Babcock leads the team in kills with 150 this season. Dan Fisher is the head coach of the squad and he is in his eleventh season.
Nebraska is in the No. 2 spot and they are currently 12-1. The Huskers have been a force in volleyball for years, including being the runner-ups last year in the championship. They are currently undefeated at home and Harper Murray has 137 kills to lead the team.
Sitting at No. 3 is Penn State. They are also 12-1 as well as undefeated at home. Jess Mruzik has 173 kills on season as well as 1638 kills on her career. Katie Schumacher-Cawley is the coach of the Nittany Lions. She joined the squad in 2022.
Will these three teams be able to hold on to their spots?
It will be just a matter of time until postseason play is here and a team will be crowned 2024 champion.
