Former Floyd foe Aaron Chalmers leaves the gloves behind
Boxer, MMA fighter and former reality TV star, Aaron Chalmers, has today announced that he has signed a multi-fight deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).
Chalmers, who rose to fame as part of the cast of reality TV show, Geordie Show, now boasts an impressive MMA record (5-2), as well as having shared the boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather.
The 37-year-old from Newcastle signed contracts with BOXXER back in February 2022, winning one, losing one, but Chalmers will now take off the gloves to step into the BKFC ring, in a deal which will see him debut in front of his home crowd of Newcastle.
The Utilita Arena will be the venue BKFC’s continued UK expansion, following successful recent shows in Leeds and Coventry, with the promotion looking to break their UK attendance record in the process.
Ahead of his BKFC debut, the former Floyd foe commented: “I’ve fought across MMA and boxing previously, but it doesn’t get any more real than BKFC. I think it’s the most exciting sport in the world, and I’m here to dedicate myself to being the best in the business. This is a multi-fight deal, and I’m here to become the face of BKFC in the UK and across the globe.
“I’ve heard incredible things about the promotion, from the attention placed on medical care, to the overall treatment of the fighters, and I’m really excited to be a part of it.
“The Utilita is an incredible venue, where I’ve fought many times before, and the Geordies are the best fans on the planet. I know they’re going to come out in full force on October 19th, and it’s going to be the start of something special for me.”
BKFC is the fastest-growing combat sport in the World, and with recent investment from global superstar, Conor ‘Notorious’ McGregor, the promotion is continuing its rise in the combat sports sphere.
