The New York Giants came into Thursday night ready to take on the Detroit Lions to kick off the preseason after the two teams spent the early part of the week battling in a pair of joint practices.
Although the Giants were eager to get their first preseason game started, to no surprise, none of the big-name players on either team would suit up.
The Giants’ defense certainly brought their A-game in the preseason opener as they limited the Lions’ offensive production all night long. The offense was powered by a pair of Eric Gray touchdowns, including one for 48 yards, which both occurred after Tommy DeVito took over at quarterback.
