Johnny Fisher blasts Babic away in just 36 seconds
‘The Romford Bull’ Johnny Fisher (12-0, 11KO) took just 36 seconds to stop Alen Babic (12-2, 11KO) on Saturday night, July 6, at the Copper Box Arena in London.
25-year-old Fisher, trained by Mark Tibbs, landed a big right hand in the first 10 seconds, then used his superior reach to keep ‘The Savage’ at arms length.
Fisher then landed a one-two which stunned the Croatian, so he proceeded to throw a barrage of shots, with a series of right hands doing the damage to force a knockdown.
When Babic returned to his feet, perhaps a little too early, his legs betrayed him and he was wobbling around with no control of his senses, so referee Mark Bates rightfully waved the fight off.
Despite Babic’s high KO ratio, many boxing experts had picked the Brit to conquer the Croatian early, but within 36 seconds was quite a statement to make.
Post-fight, many fans were calling for Fisher to fight David Allen.
