Man United will be without Kobbie Mainoo for the next few weeks, with the English midfielder dealing with an injury.
Manchester United Football Club have been dealing with injuries galore throughout the Erik ten Hag era. At this point, it feels a little more like a deep-rooted issue rather than just bad luck.
The Old Trafford side have consistently been without their major stars time and time again and it definitely makes Ten Hag’s job that much harder…
Today, we bring you news on Kobbie Mainoo, who was withdrawn in the game against Aston Villa with a problem.
Now, according to the BBC, United are set to be without the key man for a few weeks…
With another international break just on the horizon, there’s a chance we do not see Mainoo back in action until November 24th, which is a game against Ipswich Town. Perhaps there’s an outside shot at the midfielder being back for the Leicester City game on November 10th.
Honestly, though, I hope United do not rush him back. Mainoo has looked exhausted since the start of the season. He has barely had a break since breaking into the United first-team, coupling that with his England exploits over the summer.
It’s unfortunate that both club and country have become so reliant on the young man, but it’s up to United and Ten Hag to protect their midfielder and allow his body this time to recover.
The worst thing United can do is continue to lean heavily on Mainoo while he’s still so young. This is a teenager and the risk of burnout is rapidly becoming very real. We do not want to see a Jack Wilshere scenario playing out right before our eyes.
Get well soon, Kobbie.
