Tom Welland vs Alejandro Farias
R1: Welland kept Farias on the outside for the entire opener. A nice, composed, disciplined first round from Welland.
R2: Welland steps up a gear, gaining more and more success. Farias lands a solid right hook so Welland responds with a left hook of his own, a quick counter catching his man unawares and knocking him down. Patiently, he takes his time and ends the round with a swiping right hook to the body.
R3: Going through the gears, 19-year-old Welland shoeing a lovely shot selection whilst not neglecting his jab.
R4: Farias is able to land a couple of good shots of his own as Welland came on strong. Farias complained about use of the head, so Welland took advantage to land a big left hook to the head then finished the round and the fight with a straight right to the body.
‘Atomic’ Tom Welland wins 40-35 on points to move up to 5-0.

Lyndon Arthur vs Liam Cameron
R1: It was a battle of jabs to open with then Cameron reached in with a big left hook up the body, looking to land big early. Cameron’s nose was bloodied early and he took advantage when he had Arthur pinned to the ropes to sink in some big hooks but the former world champ just absorbed and avoided them all. Then Arthur landed a big straight right that caught Liam’s attention as he smiled back in defiance.
R2: Cameron comes out the corner lively, throwing big shots in close, quite a few getting through and forcing Lyndon back. A big right hand to the head lands from Cameron and Arthur is forced to react by going on the front foot and fighting back. Then Cameron lands a left hook to the belt line well after the bell so Arthur responds with a short right to the chin and Cameron falls to the floor. Lyndon is deducted a point.
R3: Arthur is jabbing Cameron‘s head off. Liam tried to jab with him but was outdone everytime by the speed and accuracy of his opponent. Arthur overreached and Cameron was able to counter quickly and cleanly.
R4: An intriguing round, started with Arthur on his snappy, authoritative jab for the first half then Cameron came on strong in the second section to land some big shots.
R5: A double jab-right hand followed by a right uppercut that crashed through the guard of Cameron to stun him momentarily causing him to cover up and weather a small spell as Arthur went in for the kill. It was a dominant round for the ‘King’ with Cameron starting to appear ragged and tired after the sustained damage.
R6: Cameron gets docked a point for hitting around the back of the head. It’s actually a good round for Cameron who’s able to close the gap and work at mid-range where it suits him. He pins Arthur to the ropes but he was happy to be there, inviting the pressure.
R7: Good right cross to start the round from Cameron. Arthur is walking Cameron down and sapping the Sheffield man’s strength and energy.
R8: Cameron is visibly goading Arthur, constantly talking to him, and it motivates Lyndon to press. He stalks his man around the ring, even talking back, and ends the stanza with a big right to the body to which Liam just shakes his head.
R9: The penultimate round starts a little frenzied. Arthur lands a lovely left hook which forces Cameron to get on his bike. Arthur appears frustrated at Cameron’s unwillingness to engage, pacing around the ring, not throwing anything.
R10: The light-heavyweights embrace and smile at each other at the start of the final round. Good right hand from Cameron which spurs him on to throw a flurry. Cameron is in the mice again but then Arthur lands a big straight right on the break. He continues to look for that right hand. The bell sounds and even though Arthur is a clear winner, Cameron raises his hands and he can be proud of his performance and how far he’s come after his addictions, grief and weight gain issues.
Arthur wins on a split decision with scores of 95-93 and 97-91, with Cameron achieving a 95-93 score on Steve Gray’s card.
