Man United could be without two first-team centre-backs for the Community Shield, as both emerge as doubts.
Manchester United begin their season with the Community Shield this weekend, facing off against Manchester City, whom the Red Devils beat in the FA Cup final back in May.
The Reds’ pre-season has been interesting. A couple of key signings have been made, though one of those is now out injured for the next three months. The other is yet to play.
Injuries are looking like a common theme again for Erik ten Hag’s squad, which is less than ideal as he looks to help this side move up the table.

With Yoro also injured, Will Fish too, it means that Jonny Evans is all set to start the Wembley showpiece at the heart of the Reds’ defence. Probably alongside Lisandro Martinez, though he
All this does is reinforce the belief that another new centre-back is an absolute necessity. United have been struggling in that area anyway and perhaps INEOS now realise how important it could be to sign someone like Matthijs de Ligt.
Get well soon, lads.
