Man United are at the head of the queue to sign Michael Olise this summer.
Manchester United are undergoing a major transformation. The Old Trafford club, now ran by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, are looking to end bad habits and return to English football’s pinnacle.
Signings are needed, particularly as the dressing room clearout this summer could leave the squad looking threadbare. Genuine quality has to be acquired, though, as some positions need serious work.
Among the names linked with a potential Old Trafford move this summer is Michael Olise.
The Crystal Palace man could leave Selhurst Park this summer after an incredible campaign.
According to Football Transfers, United are said to be ‘in the lead’ to secure the signing of the 22-year-old winger.
Olise, described as a ‘standout’ performer in the Premier League this season, particularly to end the campaign as he contributed seven goals in his last six games.
Newcastle United are said to have placed the player atop their wishlist, though their plans have been quashed as Olise is said to prefer a move to Old Trafford.
Olise is said to be a boyhood United fan, while his current contract contains a release clause that’s said to be around the £60m mark.
Understandably, United are looking to upgrade the right-hand side of their attack, with Jadon Sancho no longer a factor and Antony simply not good enough. Olise would add some genuine quality in that area of the field, assuming a deal could be agreed.
This would be a truly sensational piece of business if United could somehow pull it off. Yes, it would represent a large chunk of the summer budget, but Olise is the sort of player you can build a team around.
