Man United could look to make a move to sign Girona left-back, Miguel Gutierrez.

Manchester United Football Club had their defensive struggles last term, largely due to injuries. Erik ten Hag was rarely unable to field a consistent back four due to player’s dropping like flies all campaign long.

Lisandro Martinez was the biggest casualty, though the left-back positon was the worst-affected area. Tyrell Malacia was missing for the full campaign, while you know Luke Shaw is going to consistently pick up injury problems. Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka did a decent job at filling in for the most part.

A signing in that area would certainly help ease the burden, allowing Ten Hag to sleep a little easier at night. That’s where Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez could come in.

It’s Relevo with the story. They claim that United are interested in signing the 22-year-old left-back this summer.

United have asked about the Spaniard’s availability, though no official bid has been made to this point.

Gutierrez had an excellent campaign in La Liga, scoring twice and adding on nine assists, while looking solid defensively.

It’s expected that the left-back will leave this summer, while Gutierrez would cost around £30m due to a release clause in his current contract with Girona.

The former Real Madrid defender would view this as a step up in level, while he must be feeling pretty confident about his chances of becoming a regular starter at the Theatre of Dreams.

From a United perspective, this is a signing that would add genuine quality to the squad, while Gutierrez would be able to consistently offer himself as an option in a key area of the pitch.
