Man United have asked Nottingham Forest about the availability of midfielder Danilo.

Manchester United are slowly ticking off positional needs in the transfer market. A pair of centre-backs, a forward and a right-back have all been added.

Surely, now attention turns to addressing the midfield issues. Don’t get me wrong, Casemiro can still offer genuine quality on occasion, just look at his Community Shield performance. However, the man from Brazil needs help in that defensive midfield role.

Today, a new possible acquisition has been thrown into the mix as a potential target; Danilo.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder had a pretty good 2023/24 campaign, leading to interest in his signature.

It’s TNT Sports Brazil with the claim. They state that United, along with Milan, have made an inquiry over possibly signing the 23-year-old midfielder.

It’s claimed that Forest would be willing to negotiate a deal around the £34m mark, though no official proposal has been made at this stage.

Check out TNT Sports Brazil’s X post on the news here:

Danilo featured in 34 games for Forest last term. Of those, 29 were in the Premier League. That shows the Brazilian has what it takes to perform at a high level in this tough division.

Is Danilo United quality? It’s a tough situation as he’d improve with better quality of players around him, while he’s still developing and nowhere near the finished article.

This is a decent price for a pretty good player. I wouldn’t expect Danilo to come in and start week-in-week-out, but he’d be someone who can fill a role within the squad.
