Man United seemingly have no plans to extend Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract at the club.

Manchester United need to make wholesale changes to the squad this season, if they’re serious about pushing up the Premier League table.

Sometimes, though, you can make too many changes. Some consistency is always required, with a core group of squad members likely to be kept around. One player whose future is far from certain is Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Spider is attracting transfer interest from West Ham United at this point in time, leaving the Red Devils with a decision to make.

According to Dharmesh Sheth, United are not actively looking to sell Wan-Bissaka, though they’re doing their ‘due diligence’ in that position with the transfer window now open.

United continue to let the contract of the right-back wind down, with no talks planned over an extension as things stand.

Check out Dharmesh Sheth’s X post on the news here:

United have a big decision to make about a man who often divides opinion. Defensively, nobody can doubt his brilliance, though the fact he’s struggled to develop any attacking ability is a problem.

It seems clear to me that Ten Hag would prefer to go in a different direction, though the price has to be right. The club spent £50m to bring in Wan-Bissaka, they will not receive anywhere close to that if they sold him. They’d also have to spent money to replace the ex-Crystal Palace man.

Personally, I’d keep him around for those games where United need to lock down that right-hand side. Wan-Bissaka can go toe-to-toe with any winger in world football. That is a rare gift in this day and age.
