Man United continue to be linked with a move to sign Bayer Leverkusen right-back, Jeremie Frimpong.

Manchester United will seemingly look to address their full-back issues this coming summer. It’s a position the Old Trafford club are now being heavily linked with.

Over the last week or so, the Jeremie Frimpong rumours have picked up in pace. They make sense, the Dutchman is having an excellent season for Bundesliga leaders, Bayer Leverkusen.

Now, Football Insider have provided another update on Frimpong. They claim United, along with Liverpool, are ‘keen’ on signing the 23-year-old wing-back.

The right-sided defender is viewed as a ‘bargain’ option due to a release clause which activates this summer. Frimpong will be available for around the £35million mark, which is extremely cheap for a player of his quality and class.

Frimpong has 22 goal contributions from the full-back position this season (11 goals, 11 assists), which is an incredible record for the Dutchman.

Interest in Frimpong certainly makes sense as Erik ten Hag has often shown a preference towards signings he may be familiar with. The right-back falls into that category due to the fact they’re both Dutch.

It does seem like Liverpool are also super keen on Frimpong, though with a managerial change in the offing, any new boss could have different targets. That could give United the slim advantage they need, possibly striking early to beat out competition from their fierce rivals.

This would mean the end for either Aaron Wan-Bissaka or Diogo Dalot. You’d assume it’ll be the former who is let go in the event that Frimpong is signed.
