Man United are ready to make a bid to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Manchester United have no choice but to sign a striker of some description this summer. The Old Trafford side lost Anthony Martial and his minutes need to be replaced.

Rasmus Hojlund needs some help. He was given zero support in the number nine position, carrying the weight of that burden all alone in 2023/24. For a young man, he handled it well, though the club needs to offer the Dane the proper help.

Rumours of a potential Joshua Zirkzee move are now starting to ramp up. We literally covered the latest information on that front just last night.

Things are seemingly moving quickly here, though, with the Daily Mail now providing another update on United’s potential move to sign Zirkzee from Bologna.

According to their information, behind the scenes, United are said to be in a place where they will ‘prepare a bid’ to sign the 23-year-old this summer, as the Reds continue talks with Zirkzee, who scored 12 goals last term.

Zirkzee has a £33.7m buyout clause in his current deal, with United said to be in a ‘strong position’, though a bid is not considered ‘imminent’.

The Dutch striker wasn’t only pretty sharp in front of goal, it was his link-up play that also caught the eye, with Zirkzee tacking on seven assists.

With money thought to be tight at Old Trafford, this would represent a decent chunk of the budget, though Zirkzee would certainly be a worthwhile signing. He’d also be given his fair share of minutes due to the Europa League football that United will have to play in the 2024/25 season.
