Man United have reached an agreement with Bruno Fernandes over a new contract at the club.

Manchester United Football Club are now gearing up for the start of their new Premier League campaign, hoping to continue to improve and grow after an encouraging Community Shield performance.

There can be no doubt that going into the term, club captain Bruno Fernandes carries a large portion of the pressure. Going into the summer, there were actually transfer stories linking him with a move away from Old Trafford, with a new contract for the man from Portugal not deemed a priority.

Well, that plan seems to have drastically changed if the latest information from Fabrizio Romano turns out to be accurate. According to the Italian, United have reached an agreement over a new contract with the key star.

Bruno is set to sign a new three-year deal, with the option for a further year. His wages will now be at the top of the pecking order, which is the least he deserves.

The fact that it’ll be confirmed and official at some time this month is also massive news. It means Bruno can focus solely on his football as we gear up towards what is a massive season for the club.

United simply have to show signs of progression under Ten Hag this season or the Dutchman could certainly lose his job next time around. He has no excuses, either, as United are delivering him an excellent transfer window.

Bruno is at the heart of this team and I’m so pleased he has been given a new contract.
