Man United are looking to compete with Real Madrid for the signature of Juanlu Sanchez.

Manchester United could look to add more quality in the full-back areas before long. The left-back slot is a position that had to be neglected this summer, due to the fact that there just wasn’t enough money available to bring in a player with adequate quality.

INEOS and Erik ten Hag could look to address that area next time around, with Luke Shaw always picking up injuries and Tyrell Malacia just never fit…

One man linked with a Red Devils switch recently is Juanlu Sanchez, with the Sevilla youngster catching the eye of late.

Now, AS have provided an update on that front. According to their latest information, United have ‘set their sights’ on signing the versatile 21-year-old. He can play in either wing-back position, while also as a winger if necessary.

It’s claimed that the Reds ‘continue to keep an eye’ on the young Spaniard, though United could have to compete with Real Madrid to acquire him.

The fact that Sanchez can play in a variety of positions is what makes this move most attractive. He can fill in all over the field at this stage in his career, before nailing down a regular starting spot at a ‘top’ club.

Beating out Real for his signature is going to be the major problem here. I find it tough for a Spaniard to turn down a move to the best club in his country, so I guess United will need Los Blancos to turn their attention elsewhere to have any chance at getting this deal done.
