Man United are now getting ready to sit down with Kobbie Mainoo, and discuss a new contract at the club.
This summer, Manchester United’s attention has been firmly fixated on signing new players and strengthening the playing squad. Obviously, that makes sense as Erik ten Hag looks to return the Red Devils to the top of the footballing food chain.
However, with ten days left in the window, the club will now look to focus on other areas – including sorting out new contracts for players that deserve them.
One man whose terms have been a hot topic of discussion for several months now is Kobbie Mainoo.
Now, Sky Sports have provided an update on that front via their Transfer Centre. They claim that United are now set to sit down and discuss a new deal with the starlet once the transfer window shuts.
Understandably, United are keen to reward the player after his stunning breakout season, offering him a wage that reflects his importance to the club’s future.
It’s stressed that improving Mainoo’s terms is viewed as a priority, though the club will not rush through negotiations as the Englishman is already on a long-term deal.
Check out Sky Sports News’ info on the Mainoo news here:
United will always continue to pay their players early rather than late. It’s what they’ve always done. I love the fact that Mainoo hasn’t had to go out chasing the money, rather, it has come to him naturally after some stunning performances.
I have no worries that this deal will get done. Perhaps it’ll happen before Christmas, maybe it’ll happen in the New Year. There’s no real rush as Mainoo is focused solely on his football at this moment in time.
One thing I will say is that Mainoo deserves every penny that’s about to come his way.
