Man United are one of the sides who remain interested in signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Manchester United simply have to find some extra help for Rasmus Hojlund this summer. With Anthony Martial no longer at the club, the Reds’ need to bring in another striker is even greater than it was twelve months ago.
Money is thought to be tight during the first summer under INEOS’ regime, so it’ll be intriguing to see just how much of the budget the Reds are prepared to spend on a number nine.
Several names have been linked with the role already, as United look to bring in someone who’d act as an equal to our Danish striker, rather than someone to take up the lion’s share of minutes in the striker position.
One player who United seemingly hasn’t forgotten about is Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian has been heavily linked with a Reds move in the past, though in the end, he’d head to RB Leipzig. Now, the Old Trafford side still have eyes on the striker.
It’s journalist Ben Jacobs with the information. He names United are one of the sides who are ‘still interested’ in signing the 21-year-old, though currently it’s Arsenal and Chelsea who are leading the race.
No deal has been agreed to sign Sesko yet, though, so if United want to, they still have a chance at getting this transfer done.

Sesko is very much similar to Hojlund in the sense that his best years are still to come. He’s a young player who is still learning his trade, though the talent and ability is obviously there.
It sounds funny to say, but is Sesko too good? United do not want to hamper the development of Hojlund. Bringing in someone equally as talented isn’t probably the ideal scenario for both players.
It would also be a massive chunk of the budget to spend on a player who wouldn’t be starting game in game out. I’d much prefer to see United look at some cheaper options, regardless of whether they’re going to be as good as Sesko.
