Man United are among a whole host of clubs who are tracking RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba.
Manchester United Football Club made some positive signings over the summer, though the start to the season did prove that there is still much work ahead for Erik ten Hag.
More additions are required if the Red Devils are serious about challenging for major honours on a regular basis.
Despite investing heavily in the back line, it seems as though the club aren’t fully content in that area, with the Reds credited with an interest in Castello Lukeba.
The story comes from RMC Sport via their live blog. They name United as one of a whole host of clubs who are tracking the talented 21-year-old defender, despite the player recently signing a new contract with his current club until 2029.
Real Madrid and Liverpool are also credited with an interest in Lukeba.
The Frenchman, who currently plies his trade for RB Leipzig, has continued to improve rapidly over recent months. He is now being ‘courted’ by some of the biggest clubs in the world, which is a testament to his talent.
Due to the fact he recently signed a new deal with Leipzig, this is a move with the future in mind rather than anything imminent about to happen. Perhaps United view Lukeba as someone who could eventually replace Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof or Jonny Evans. However, the Frenchman will cost big money if he continues to improve.
United would also have trouble beating out the hefty competition for Lukeba’s signature. Let’s be honest, both Real Madrid and Liverpool are in a far better place than United are right now, so it’d take some convincing to bring in the young Frenchman.
