Man United are set to receive around £9m total for the sale of Hannibal to Burnley.

Manchester United Football Club are closing in on the signature of Manuel Ugarte from PSG, with the Red Devils bringing in some real quality to their midfield before Friday’s deadline.

Naturally, other players will have to leave to balance the books. Scott McTominay could well depart for Napoli in the coming hours, while another midfielder is also on the way out; Hannibal.

Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest update on the Tunisia international, claiming that United are now close to selling the starlet, in a deal worth a total of £9m.

United have included a sell-on clause in Hannibal’s Burnley contract, while the medical has already been completed. All that’s left is to sign the documents.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s X post on the news here:

Hannibal cost United around £8m from AS Monaco when he made the move to Old Trafford, so there is potential for the Red Devils to make a minimal profit on the midfielder.

At the end of the day, Hannibal just hasn’t been able to make that leap up to the first-team. He’s a talented young man, perhaps the elite level is just a little too high for the 21-year-old. That’s not to say he cannot enjoy a successful career within the sport.

Burnley represents a decent option for the midfielder. It’s a great chance to join a winning side in the Championship, with a possibility of playing regular Premier League football in future.

This is also a decent boost to the transfer kitty for manager Erik ten Hag.
