Man United have identified Ruben Amorim as a potential option to become their new head coach.

Manchester United Football Club decided to sack Erik ten Hag after the loss away at West Ham United on Sunday. Let’s be honest, it felt inevitable after the poor run of results to begin this campaign.

The hunt for the Dutchman’s replacement is now well underway, with Ruud van Nistelrooy in charge on an interim basis until the Old Trafford side find their new permanent boss.

Well, it seems as though David Ornstein has his finger on the pulse yet again, confirming that United are already ‘working on’ a deal to appoint a new manager, with 39-year-old Ruben Amorim identified as a possible option.

United are already in talks with Amorim’s current club, Sporting Lisbon, about hiring the Portuguese as their new boss. They will have to pay his £8.3m release clause in order to bring him in.

Check out David Ornstein’s X post on the news here:

Credit to United here. They’re working quickly and efficiently, identifying their next boss and reaching out as soon as possible in order to bring him in.

INEOS seemingly had Amorim in mind when they pulled the trigger on sacking Ten Hag and it’s nice to see United acting like a big club for a change.

Amorim will play an attractive style of football, based on his typical three at the back system. The thought of Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt all in the same team is an exciting prospect, I cannot lie.

United have to change the direction and plan. Amorim is a young, progressive coach who is destined for a major job at some point in the not too distant future. It looks like the Red Devils have jumped in front of their rivals in that regard, with Amorim looking very much like he could be signed and sealed before the international break.
