Man United would look to open talks with Thomas Tuchel, if the Red Devils decide to move on from Erik ten Hag.

The media crows are now circling around Erik ten Hag, after another poor run of results. The Dutchman is already under heavy pressure. We’re not even two months into the season.

When you’re managing a club the size of Manchester United, there’s zero room for mistakes and different coaches are already being heavily linked with a move to replace Ten Hag at the Theatre of Dreams.

Today’s rumour comes from the I Newspaper. They believe Thomas Tuchel could be an option for INEOS and the Old Trafford side.

According to their information, United are ‘expected to resume talks’ with the 51-year-old manager if the decide to move on from Ten Hag.

The Reds have been admirers of Tuchel for quite some time, having been linked with the German in the past.

Tuchel is currently out of work after being let go by Bayern Munich over the summer, as they chose to replace him with Vincent Kompany.

The German has a wealth of managerial experience under his belt, including some time in the Premier League with Chelsea. PSG and Borussia Dortmund are two other massive clubs. Having someone in charge who is that well-versed is only a good thing.

My issue here is that Tuchel has also been let go by all these clubs after underperforming. United is probably bigger than all of his prior jobs. Would he be able to live up to the pressure?

As is the case with any new managerial appointment, it’s another hitting of the reset button which is concerning. United would be back at square one and they’d need to give the new prospective boss time in order to get his own players in etc.

Ten Hag is making problems for himself, though, and leaving United with no choice. Particularly if these poor results continue.

Do you think Thomas Tuchel would be a good signing for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
