Bruno Fernandes continued to impress this week, putting in a dominant performance against Scotland while playing for Portugal.
Manchester United haven’t been in action since that humbling Liverpool defeat, meaning the Red Devils have been stewing on that loss for the last week. We’re now just five days away from our beloved club returning to action against Southampton.
Before that, though, our stars have been jetting all across the globe to represent their countries. There have been some excellent performances from United players, including Alejandro Garnacho, who picked up his first Argentina assist.
Last night, Portugal took on Scotland in an encounter jam-packed with United stars past and present. Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot enjoyed their reunion against ex-Red Scott McTominay, winning 2-1 as Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner.
We’d like to focus in on the performance from the United club captain, though, who also scored in that match. As per usual, it was an outstanding performance from our Portuguese Magnifico.
The stats pretty much tell you everything you need to know, with Bruno scoring once, creating six chances and completing 100% of his long balls. Those are just a few of the insane numbers the man from Portugal put up in this game.

I think we’re just very lucky to have a player like this on our books. He has that rare mix of sheer talent, attacking ability and defensive work rate. He’s the perfect all-round player who does every aspect of the beautiful game at an incredibly high level.
Not only is he consistently United’s leading goal contributor, but he’s also the hardest worker, best presser and biggest leader within the squad. It’s why he was named captain by Erik ten Hag.
I’m just delighted that he’s here to stay after recently signing a new contract. With him at the heart of the side, United always have a chance as he can create something out of nothing even when things aren’t going well.
Hopefully, he can bring this excellent international form back to club level, starting with Southampton away on Saturday.
