Man United have eyes on Michael Olise, who reportedly has a £65m release clause.
Manchester United are now starting to be regularly linked with some big transfer moves this coming summer. The Old Trafford side are said to be somewhat cash-strapped during the window, due to FFP and Profit & Sustainability rules.
That said, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will be hoping to make a positive first impression on the Red Devils supporters. Their whole motto is to start spending money more wisely. We’ll see how that goes over the next four months or so…
The latest rumour comes from The Guardian, who believe United are one of several sides interested in signing Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise. The article itself is largely focused on Arsenal’s interest in the winger, though the Reds do get a mention.
Apparently, the 22-year-old winger is now being ‘heavily tracked’ by United ahead of the summer transfer window, while Manchester City are also doing the same.
Olise, who is a France U21 international, is said to have a release clause come into effect this coming summer. That figure is believed to be around the £65m mark which is relatively cheap for a player of his ability and talent.
This is a player who dazzles and always makes things happen from that right-wing position. We’d no doubt see some stunning goals and moments of brilliance from Olise should the move happen.
However, we should be wary. Olise had several injury issues this campaign. The last thing United need is to bring in another player who will miss multiple games due to treatment table woes. For that reason alone, I’d probably look at other options first.
